@kyle Now that’s an idea. I’ll have to try that out and hope it doesn’t feel too creepy.
I need a mirror or something for my desk at work. I keep getting startled by folks coming to my cubicle to talk when I have my ear buds in to concentrate on some code.
@matigo Nah just changing where I direct some of my social noise in the fediverse.
@nitinkhanna Yeah probably. I’m just concerned that if they move to something like Slack for example they’ll create more friction with their community than just getting away from IRC will cause. I do agree it doesn’t have to be something they self host per se but centralized closed systems I fear don’t work well in the open source community they rely on.
@nitinkhanna Yeah I certainly think so. I hope though that their new platform whatever it ends up being is something that is not closed and proprietary.
